Get & Give: Holiday Mini Sessions

All of the proceeds from the holiday mini sessions this year are going to an amazing boy, Strother, and his family. Strother’s mom and I have a few mutual friends. We are actually in a baby-sitting club together (Yes, I am in a babysitting club!) but we haven’t had the chance to watch each other’s kiddos yet… soon! When I heard about the accident I knew I had to do something to help – I can’t take back the accident for them, I can’t take away the pain, but I can take photos!!!!

Here’s a bit of Strother’s story from his site:

“On June 23, 2012, a healthy, happy and very bright little five-year old boy named Strother Norman was involved in a tragic car accident. He was rescued by the ‘jaws of life’ and flown to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, where he spent 44 days in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Strother suffered a spinal cord injury at his T3 and L3 vertebrae, and has no spinal cord function below the T2 vertebrae.  He has endured four major surgeries with the likelihood of more in the future as he grows. Remarkably, he has full use of his arms and has retained great dexterity in his hands. Unfortunately, he has no feeling below his chest.”

If you’re still on the fence about booking a session to help out, I encourage you to read this single blog post, written by Strother’s dad. It’s one of the most emotional things I’ve ever read in my entire life….. and it’s a conversation between 5 year old Strother and his 3 year old brother, Hodge. Kids never cease to amaze me. Make sure you have a tissue handy. Seriously.

Maternity Session Fabulousness

Casey and Andy started out as one of our first wedding clients, and have become great friends. She loves photos almost as much as I do, so I knew we were in store for an awesome session. It was a blast to see her adorable belly!!!

Is this light not amazing! I wish I could command it to happen at every session.:-)The truck just happened to be in our field, so of course we took full advantage. It was for sale if anyone is interested???

My little super heroes…

We were on our way to a super hero themed birthday party and stopped for a quick portrait session. How could I not document this!!??! I do realize this is Zoe’s blog debut…. at 9 months old. Horrible. Horrible. I promise to post more of her!

Family fun on the beach

We had the opportunity to photograph a family session while out on the beach. The kiddos were adorable! I wish wish wish that we could just hop in the car, drive for an hour from DFW, & end up in a location like this.

Fort Worth Maternity Session

Doesn’t Amanda look awesome?! The last time I saw Amanda & Eric the were getting married! Now a little one is one the way. We did the session at their new home – they have an awesome yard with great grass. You know, the kind you want to take your shoes off and walk around in?:-)

We took a few with their original children – the furbabies.

Dylan is 18 months!

It’s hard to believe he’s a little person now! How time goes by so fast…

This was our second attempt at his session. The first time we tried he refused to nap that day & wanted nothing to do with being cute. The hard life of being a photographers son. LOL

Newborn Portraits

This cutie belongs to one of my past wedding couples! I love when I get a call from one of my brides wanting to do a newborn session. I was going to link to their wedding blog post but realized ***gasp*** I never did one! So here’s a few highlights from the big day. The ceremony was at Christ the King in Dallas and the reception at Marie Gabrielle.

And now back to the adorableness….

A year of tutus

Kherington’s mom is a dance instructor so we thought it would be fabulous for her to wear a tutu at each session during her first year. So fun!

And here’s a few other favorites from the year. She’s such a cutie!

3 months already!

It’s crazy to see how much Kherington has changed in just 3 short months. Who would have thought she could get even cuter than before?!?!

awwwww….

I couldn’t believe how small and adorable Anabelle was when I saw here. We photographed Lauren & Don’s wedding and I was so excited to hear about the new arrival!! She was just over a week at our session, so tiny!

a sleep smile… it just melts my heart:-)
